One of the top predators in its ecosystem, this dinosaur belonged to the family of metriacanthosaurids, a group of carnivores closely related to allosaurids. With an estimated length of between 8 and 10 meters and a weight of up to 3 tons, Yangchuanosaurus was a formidable hunter.
